Specific Project Unit 2
In this person project we were asked to conduct three experiments. Three experiments I selected to perform were Try things out 1, Test 2, and Experiment some. I have documented my findings for the experiments that have been done.
In Try things out 1, I had been to apply my index finger gently over a bit of very rough sandpaper for a few times. In that case, I was to rate the coarseness on a scale from 1 (very soft) to 7 (very coarse). The first time I rubbed my little finger over the sandpaper, it felt rough. I would give it a 7(very coarse). The roughness that it had, gave my body a shot. I felt like it was uncomfortable to the touch. My own brain got transmitted my own reaction when I touched the thing. In this test the reaction named different threshold, which is the difference between two stimuli. ( Words of Wisdom, 2013 ) There have been changes in the way my finger felt once I located it for the sandpaper. Initially when i first touched the sandpaper this felt rough and odd to me. The sandpaper signed up in my head as a difficult surface and prickly to touch but when I actually touched this a second time the tough sensation would not seem because rough anymore. This is when the adaptation got taken place. The brain received to signal in the neurons and the stimuli was your sandpaper. The signal translated that the paper was rough to the touch and once touching that again completely adapted to the surface of the sandpaper. The procedure helps us to understand the sensory edition that took place. The sensory adaptation is identified as the process of senses becoming much less responsive to physical stimuli. (Words of Perception, 2013) The finger was exposed to sandpaper the reaction of the sandpaper created a sensation inside the finger that triggered feelings of feel.
The second period I handled the sandpaper with the same finger, I discovered that it would not bother me personally as much. I might give it a 3 (some -what soft) on the scale of...
